We have long expertise in different art forms and different fields of the cultural industry.
WEAVE was founded in 2024 by four independent artists from the fields of music, film, video art, theater and literature (Miranda Vatikiotis, Michael Nivolianitis, Erato Tzavara, Vassilis Tzavaras) in response to their need to join forces and enrich their individual paths by placing them on a common trajectory.
Meet the team
Vassilis Tzavaras
Co-founder, Musician, Educator
Vasilis Tzavaras was born in Paris in 1973. He has been working as a professional musician, music educator, composer, and singer since 1993. He is a founding member of the music groups Occasional Dream, Take the Money and Run, Project 37, 4+1, Silent Move, the theatrical group Atonal, and the artistic-educational group Gnous.He has studied jazz guitar, jazz improvisation, and composition. He composes music for theatrical performances, often performing live. Since 1993, he has appeared in concerts both within and outside of Athens. He has released seven personal albums.He teaches guitar, piano, and improvisation. He has overseen the publication of educational books for guitar (Philippos Nakas Publications). As a member of Gnous, he has designed and conducted workshops and educational performances in collaboration with the Onassis Foundation's Stegi of Letters and Arts. He was part of the writing team for creating the digital material "Composing with Sounds" within the framework of the European program Interfaces (New Models and Practices for Audience Development in Contemporary Music in Europe). In the fall of 2024, his study on free improvisation is scheduled to be published.
Miranda Vatikioti
Co-founder, Project Manager, Writer, Educator
Miranda Vatikioti was born in 1982 in Athens. She is a playwright and writer. She studied theater at the University of Patras and completed the MA Program of the Department of Theater Studies of the Kapodistrian University. As a theater expert, she has worked for a number of years in the field of dramaturgy in theater, dance and puppet theater performances (Plefsis, Amalgama, Face of Men, N. Vagionakis, AdamasPandahou, Fly Theatre). At the same time, from 2005 until today, she has been working in the field of education, designing and implementing programs for adults and minors in collaboration with a number of institutions (primary education, Civil Society) using theater and creative writing as tools. As an author, she has published the children's short story "Magic Clock" (published by K. M. Zacharakis, 2006), is the creator of the series of mystery novels for children "The Gang with the Blue Stockings" (published by Aeolos, 2019-23) and in the period 2016-17 two of her detective novels for adults were released (published by Pikramenos). In recent years, she has been combining educational activity and writing, to design and implement creative writing programs in Greece and abroad.
Michael Nivolianitis
Co-founder, Composer, Producer, Filmmaker
Michalis Nivolianitis is a composer for audiovisual media. He has completed advanced theoretical and composition studies in music, specializing in composing music for theater and cinema at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, as well as studying theater and film studies at N.York College. In the last two years, he pursued film directing studies at the Hellenic Open University (EAP).He has co-signed as Dna music for dozens of films, theatrical plays, TV series, and advertisements in Greece and abroad from 1996 to the present.He was a co-founding member of the musical group Occasional Dream, with whom he performed live in Greece, Turkey, and Italy in 1999, representing Greece at the Biennale of Young Artists.
He has been awarded in Greece and abroad for his compositional work. His works are distributed by Sony ATV, Universal, and Dna Label. Since 2017, he curated and published a new series of audio books for children featuring storytelling by actors, original music, and sound design, with worldwide digital distribution. He also began his involvement in education and the design of productions and activities.
Erato Tzavara
Co-founder, Video Artist, Researcher, Educator
Erato Tzavara is an Athens/London based video artist and independent researcher who specializes in moving image techniques for live performance, video design and embodiment in relation to digital media. Through international-interdisciplinary collaborations with a focus on live performance, she has presented work in theatres, art spaces, music venues and international festivals across Europe, US, Canada and Asia.
In her personal work, she draws on participatory methods, photography, video essays and somatics to capture the collective experience in relation to human and non-human Environments.
As an educator, Tzavara has a 20 year experience of devising and facilitating multimedia education workshops and AV performances for different ages, abilities and social backgrounds. Since 2013, she has been co-directing innovative educational programs and live performances for kids and young people with Athens based AV education group GNOUS! With the continuous support of The Onassis Cultural Center, GR.
